This podcast is part of the Novelty Stylus group, which includes both D&D and Dragonball podcasts. This appears to be the D&D campaign, and includes some quite different PCs. Tales for Tuesday - The Once and Future Nerd Podcast: Episode 8 - http://onceandfuturenerd.com/2013/12/01/life-in-a-corner-pt-2/ "Hoping to make the best of the situation, Brennen sets to teaching the kids the basics of armed combat. Meanwhile, back at Castle Guernatal, Ardel Redmoor makes the first tentative moves of a nefarious scheme."
The Once and Future Nerd is not an actual play podcast like I originally thought. Instead, it’s a full-blown audio drama with fully scripted episodes, professional voice actors, and fabulous writing, direction, and sound design. If you enjoyed great radio dramas of the past (more recent BBC versions all the way back to the early days of broadcast radio theater like the famous 1938 broadcast of “War of the Worlds” in the USA), then you will really enjoy this show.
This podcast is a little bit different. I put it on my list thinking it was a live play podcast or a real play podcast where the characters are voiced by players online or around a table creating a story as they go. This one is a little bit different, but still well worth a listen. This is a full-blown original scripted “radio drama” in the style of the great radio dramas from the golden age of radio between the two world wars of the last century. But the story fits in with the sci-fi and fantasy theme of the rest of the shows I have been reviewing.Read More
