So far it's been a busy kickoff week. Tuesday was the Preseason Tailgate downtown and Thursday was the 5k, which I couldn't do this year because there was an event across town at UCF to introduce new football coach Scott Frost and AD Danny White to season ticket holders. Then of course yesterday Nocerino arrived in town and was greeted by some fans at the airport but you know... day job. I was really glad to see so many people tweeting about being at the airport yesterday to greet Nocerino and make him feel welcomed here.
Today we'll be out at the Pub Crawl downtown from 3 - 9 pm. If I can get any bars or reliable WiFi on my phone I will tweet out pictures and locations and will hope to meet up with some of you who read the blog from week to week. The highlight of the evening will be when the club officially introduces Nocerino at 6 pm.
Tomorrow is the big day: first match of the 2016 season! With a 2pm kickoff my tailgate group is planning a breakfast tailgate. We will cook eggs, bacon, sausage, and one of our group is also bringing a Utah-inspired dish, "funeral potatoes." We'll talk more about that in the wrap up post after the match.
I'm also planning my first contest of the 2016 season. Watch the twitter feed (@lionsteethblog) later today for more details on how you could be eligible for a free pair of tickets to attend tomorrow's season opener!
What has been your favorite part about kickoff week so far? And what do you expect from the team in tomorrow's first match? Let me know in the comments below!
